Our New Ball Player

Okay, I know this isn't my child. But this is just too cute not to share, and he is my nephew. Plus his parents never share pictures online. Brad taught Easton how to throw a ball. Here is some video of our future baseball player.

Bridle Your Tongue - Lisa

A couple of weeks ago we had a combined Relief Society/Priesthood lesson and it was so amazing. It was given by a member on the bishopric who is a psychologist. It taught me a lot about myself and relationships. He mainly talked about the relationship with your spouse, but he said it could apply to any relationship whether it be family, friends or co-workers. He talked about things that could ruin marriages, and the #1 reason was communication.

Communication - Now you first think what??? Isn't that the main thing everyone always says that we should work on? "If you just worked on your communication with each other, everything would be better." Right? We hear that all the time. But when it comes right down to it, most of the time we just need to shut our mouths and bite our tongues. He said that the world now days teaches that we should let everyone know everything that we are feeling. That we need to tell our spouse everything that's on our minds. But the truth is that most of the time these things that we are thinking are very hurtful. So if you wouldn't say it to your boss and you wouldn't say it to a stranger - you probably shouldn't say it to a loved one. It's so true! When Justin and I argue I always think that I need to tell him "my side of the story or how I feel", but the truth is, it's usually something mean and causes us to fight even more. Psalms 39:1 says - I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. If I just would "bridle my tongue" the argument would be over. I've tried this a couple of times these few weeks and it's amazing how fast our confrontations are over!

Cute Poem-Kristy

I saw this good poem on facebook so I thought to put it on here

I ran into a stranger as he passed by, 'Oh excuse me please' was my reply. He said, 'Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you.' We were very polite, this stranger and I. We went on our way and we said goodbye. But at home a different story is told, How we treat our loved ones, young and old. Later that day, cooking the evening meal, My son stood beside me very still. When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. 'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown. He walked away, his little heart broken. I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken. While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said, While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse. Go and look on the kitchen floor, You'll find some flowers there by the door. Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue. He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.' By this time, I felt very small, And now my tears began to fall. I quietly went and knelt by his bed; 'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said. 'Are these the flowers you picked for me?' He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree. I picked 'em because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.' I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today; I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.' He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway.' I said, 'Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

FAMILY Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think? So what is behind the story? Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Also I actually did something outside of the house so you've got to admit that is definitely note worthy anyway here are some cool pics from the 24th of July and from me going to the Gateway with Sawyer.
